After cycling in Italy, I got a new appreciation for all the roundabouts! I never had to stop and wait for traffic lights ;D it was a beautiful thing!!

I originally wanted to take a mountain bike trail that went around Populonia corner, but losing time trying to find the trailhead dragging my BMX bike over beach rocks and it not opening up I turned back to find the original trailhead was roped off and that’s why I went past it not realizing. I thought about chancing it as I really wanted to do this ride, but riding by myself and not knowing why the trail was roped off I figured it was better safe than sorry. So I headed back to the main road to go check out one last town Piombino before calling it a day. ;) Beautiful views of the bay with the island Elba & Corsica Island across the way! Didn’t have all that much time here. Had a glass of wine and some munchies, and then raced the sun back to my 2nd farm.

Since I rented the BMX bike for the weekend, I wanted to take full advantage even though my legs were quite spent lol! So the next day I headed up to a famous cycling spot of this road lined w/ cypress trees on both sides that lead up to this super cute and quaint wine town ;) On the way back, the road I took went through surrounding vineyards; reminded me of Napa and Sonoma! Incredibly stunning and absolutely beautiful! I didn’t take many pictures as I was riding back, but would definitely want to head back here and do some wine tasting for sure!! ;)
